Air Fried Pickles with Chipotle Cilantro Sauce

AIR FRIED PICKLES WITH CHIPOTLE CILANTRO SAUCE! I'm all about recreating my favorite indulgent snacks into healthier versions and these satisfy all of those cravings!

Say goodbye to deep fried pickles that make you feel blah and hello to their crispy, tangy, and delicious upgrade!

What you'll need for the pickles:

  • Hamburger dill pickle chips: I tried using bread & butter and the consensus is dill is a lot better!

  • An egg

  • Rice crumbs or bread crumbs: I used Trader Joe's rice crumbs for a gluten free option!

  • Garlic powder

  • Salt

  • Paprika

What you'll need for the sauce:

  • Plain Greek yogurt

  • Chopped cilantro

  • Water

  • Paprika

  • Garlic powder

  • Salt

  • Juice of half a lime

Materials needed:

  • Cutting board

  • Knife

  • Food processor or blender

  • Paper towels

  • 2 small bowls

  • Fork

  • Air fryer

How to do it:

First, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.

Next, in a small bowl, whisk the egg. In another small bowl, mix rice crumbs, garlic powder, salt, and paprika. 

Lay the pickles flat on double layered paper towels and lay another paper towel over the top of them. Press down on top of the paper towel to release the moisture - you may need to repeat a couple times to dry them fully.

Once pickles are dry, one-by-one, dip each in the egg followed by the rice crumb mixture and place into air fryer basket - do not overcrowd air fryer or else it will compromise the crispiness!

When all pickles are covered in the breading, air fry for 14 minutes, shaking a little halfway through.

While the pickles are cooking, add all of the sauce ingredients to a food processor.

Blend up until cilantro is finely ground up.
