Classic Italian Meatballs


Something about a big ole plate of spaghetti and meatballs just makes you feel all warm and cozy. This is one of my favorite meals of all time, so making these CLASSIC ITALIAN MEATBALLS was a no-brainer for me. These guys are made with ground turkey and pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and a bunch of yummy seasonings!

What you'll need:

  • Ground pork

  • Ground turkey: can substitute for ground beef

  • Eggs

  • Whole wheat breadcrumbs: can substitute for regular breadcrumbs, Panko breadcrumbs, or rice crumbs for a gluten free option

  • Shredded Parmesan: can substitute for grated

  • Minced garlic

  • Sea salt

  • Italian seasoning

  • Dried basil

  • Pepper

Materials you'll need:

  • Baking sheet

  • Aluminum foil

  • Wire racks

  • Nonstick cooking spray

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Whisk

  • Rubber spatula or large mixing spoon

How to do it:

First, preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and wire racks - spray with nonstick cooking spray. I use the wire racks for draining the excess fat to the bottom of the baking sheets.

Next, in a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs.

Add remaining ingredients to the mixing bowl and mix until fully combined. I find it is easiest to mix with my hands and a rubber spatula.

Form mixture into 24 1-inch meatballs and place on prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart from each other.

Bake for 20-22 minutes and then switch oven to broil at 500 degrees and broil for another 3-5 minutes or until meatballs have a lighter brown outer layer.

Serve with your favorite spaghetti and marinara sauce & enjoy!
