My Daily Life in Quarantine

I am trying my best to stay positive in quarantine.

The Daily Stoic today said "Here is how to guarantee you have a good day: do good things. Any other source of joy is outside of your control or is nonrenewable. But this one is all you, all the time, and unending. It is the ultimate form of self-reliance.

That being said, I thought this blog post was very fitting.

I have found that getting into a routine has been my saving grace while being stuck at home and wanted to share some of my daily pursuits with you to possibly spark some ideas or give insight:

  • The first thing I do in the morning is read The Daily Stoic and write in my gratitude journal: I've discovered that writing in a journal sets the tone for my day completely. I write down what I'm grateful for, how I will treat my body and mind kindly today, things I will accomplish for the day, and how I will make that happen. I use Andrea Robinson's The You Do You Journal.

  • Throughout my work day, I get up every hour and either walk up and down the stairs, walk outside, or just pace in place: Movement is medicine and sitting all day wreaks havoc on my mental and physical state.

  • Exercise: Rachael's Good Eats, Bri P Fit, and the Peloton App have been coming in clutch with killer at-home workouts. I'm not 100% motivated everyday, but these coaches make it a whole lot easier and that feeling of accomplishment from finishing a workout (especially from home) is one-of-a-kind.

  • Mobility has been a game changer for me as I am working from home: Mindful Movement and Mo Fitness & Health have great mobility tips and routines!

  • Planning meals: This has become particularly rewarding and fun in quarantine with all of the time and gives me another thing to look forward to doing everyday.

  • Enjoying dessert every night: Because living a life without daily dessert is a life I DO NOT want to live.

  • Getting outside: There's something truly special about feeling sunshine on my skin.

Taking it day-by-day, we're all in this together and we will come out of this stronger than ever!

What is something that you look forward to doing everyday? I would love to hear it :)
