Tender Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Like this Tender Slow Cooker Pot Roast - a classic family meal, but make it easier than ever.


This recipe is completely fail-proof and take minimal effort.


The perfect meal for any day of the week!


I have included instructions for both a slow cooker and an Instant Pot. I used an Instant Pot as you will see in the pictures!


Let's get cookin'!

Here is what you'll need:

  • A 2 lb. boneless beef chuck roast

  • Beef broth

  • Avocado or olive oil

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

  • Herb seasoning

First step is to rub half of the avocado or olive oil on the roast and rub salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and herb seasoning into the roast.

Next, heat the remaining avocado or olive oil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-heat OR in your Instant Pot using sauté mode, heat avocado or olive oil.

Sear all sides of the roast until it becomes this light brown color - this will take about 3 minutes.


Pour beef broth or water around your roast and set slow cooker to low for 8-10 hours (a great option for a work day) or high for 4-6 hours. If you are using an Instant Pot, use "Slow Cook" mode and set it for 6 hours. Make sure that the pressure valve is switched to "Venting" as well.

After time is up, remove the roast from your slow cooker or Instant Pot.

It should fall apart into good sized pieces as you remove it.
